The Book of Answers

Hold a question in your mind. Tap the book. Watch the pages riffle, slow, and settle — the page where they stop holds your answer. Sometimes blunt, sometimes cryptic, occasionally unhelpful on purpose.

This is a web edition of the classic answer-oracle format made famous by the 1999 parlor book: one question, one random page, one short answer you probably already knew. Every answer here is original, and each one lives on its own fixed page — the same answer is always on the same page, in every session.

How to use

  1. Hold your question in your mind — or type it in. The book never reads it; writing it down is for you.
  2. Tap the book. The cover opens and the pages turn on their own. Impatient? Tap again to skip straight to the answer.
  3. Read the page where the book stops. Ask again to close the book, deal another answer to the same question, or save a shareable card of the result.

Frequently asked questions

What is The Book of Answers?

A digital answer oracle. Hold a question in your mind, tap the book, and the page where the pages stop turning holds your answer. It follows the format of the cult-classic parlor book first published in 1999 — every answer in this edition, however, is original.

How does the book pick my answer?

Pure chance. The 204 answers are shuffled into a deck and dealt one page at a time. There is no AI reading your question and no hidden logic — the book never knows what you asked.

Will I get the same answer twice?

Not within a round: the deck is fully reshuffled only after every page has been dealt. Each answer also lives on a fixed page number, so the same answer is always on the same page of the book.

Is it free?

Yes — no sign-up, no ads, no limits. Ask as many questions as you like.

Do you store my question?

No. Everything happens in your browser: your question is never sent anywhere or stored. The page loads its typeface and anonymous traffic statistics (Google Analytics) — close the tab and your question is gone.
